Volkswagen is offering big discounts on the ID series of electric vehicles (EVs), after talk of a price war has largely died down over the past two months. SAIC-Volkswagen is offering discounts of up to RMB 42,000 for the ID.3, though it's limited to 7,000 units and only valid for July.

The ID.3 is currently offered in China in two versions with starting prices of RMB 162,888 and RMB 191,888, and they are currently available for a limited-time deal of RMB 125,888 and RMB 149,888, according to SAIC-Volkswagen's website.

This means that the prices of these two versions of the ID.3 have been reduced by RMB 37,000 and RMB 42,000, or 22.7 percent and 21.9 percent, respectively. The expected delivery dates for both versions are within 2 weeks.

Volkswagen's joint ventures in China, SAIC-Volkswagen and FAW-Volkswagen, both offer the ID series of EVs, but the ID.3 is only offered by SAIC-Volkswagen.

Both SAIC-Volkswagen and FAW-Volkswagen produce the ID.4 and ID.6, with the former providing the ID.4X and ID.6X, and the latter being the ID.4 CROZZ and ID.6 CROZZ.

FAW-Volkswagen posted on its WeChat account today that the ID.4 CROZZ currently has a starting price of RMB 18.39, down RMB 34,000 from the RMB 217,900 displayed on its website.
