Zeekr, the premium electric vehicle (EV) subsidiary of Geely Holding Group, began shipping the first Zeekr X electric SUVs to Europe, after starting to ship the first Zeekr 001s there about a month ago.

The first European version of the Zeekr X rolled off the assembly line from Zeekr's factory in recent days and was assembled and loaded at the port for shipment to Europe on September 18, the company said.

The European version of the Zeekr X supports map navigation in 32 European countries and nine languages, and allows drivers to communicate with the vehicle via voice without obstacles during the trip, Zeekr said.

The city SUV's chassis is tuned by a European team and meets E-NCAP's five-star crash standards, it said.

Zeekr unveiled its European strategy on April 18, the first day of the Shanghai auto show, saying it would offer EV products to European customers based on a direct-to-customer business model. On June 27, Zeekr announced that it began pre-sales of the Zeekr 001 and Zeekr X in Europe, with starting prices of 59,490 euros ($63,400) and 44,990 euros, respectively.

The two models will go on sale first in Sweden and the Netherlands, with first deliveries expected to begin within the year, Zeekr said in late June.

Zeekr will begin delivering vehicles in Sweden, the Netherlands in the fourth quarter, and will have a cumulative presence in six European countries by 2024, and it expects its international presence to reach eight countries by 2025, the company said, repeating previously announced plans.
