On June 13th, NIO's EL8 (known as ES8 in domestic China) officially launched in five European countries: Norway, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, and Denmark. This marks NIO's sixth vehicle model introduced in Europe following the ET7, ET5, EL6, EL7, and ET5T.
In the German market, the NIO EL8 is offered in two models: the 75 kWh battery version priced at 94,900 euros, and the 100 kWh battery version priced at 103,900 euros.
The NIO EL8 launched in Europe shares the same design and features as the ES8 available in the domestic market, including concealed door handles, a mast-style LiDAR, and multiple high-definition cameras. The vehicle dimensions are 5099 mm in length, 1989 mm in width, 1750 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3070 mm. In terms of paint choices, the EL8 offers five colors; however, compared to the ES8 in China, it lacks options such as Antarctica Blue, Cosmic Blue, and Star Grey.
In terms of interior, the NIO EL8 is equipped with a floating central control screen and a full LCD instrument panel that supports AR/VR video output. The cabin adopts a 2+2+2 six-seat layout, with the front two rows featuring seats built on NIO's proprietary seat frame platform, equipped with heating, ventilation, and massage functions. The third-row seats also support heating. Additionally, the interior includes a premium 7.1.4 immersive sound system and an onboard refrigerator among other luxurious amenities.
The NIO EL8 features a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system with a combined power output of 480 kW and peak torque of 850 N·m. It is equipped with dual-chamber air suspension, CDC dynamic damping control system, and Bosch IPB intelligent line control dynamic system. The 75 kWh battery version achieves a WLTP-rated range of 390 kilometers, while the 100 kWh battery version offers a range of 510 kilometers.
In 2023, NIO sold a total of 2,399 vehicles in the European market. The company has established a comprehensive charging and swapping network in Europe, comprising 43 battery swap stations and 45 supercharging piles. Additionally, they have integrated with over 600,000 third-party charging piles to meet customer charging needs effectively.
