On August 14, 2024, BYD opened its first store and service center in Colombo, Sri Lanka, and launched its first plug-in hybrid car there, the BYD SEALION 6. Liu Xueliang, General Manager of BYD’s Asia-Pacific Automotive Sales Division, attended the opening along with local partner John Keells CG Auto.

Liu Xueliang said, “BYD is committed to green travel worldwide. We are excited to open our first store in Sri Lanka and introduce the new BYD SEALION 6. This is a significant step in supporting local green transportation. We will continue to bring the latest products and technology to Sri Lanka, offering more eco-friendly travel options and hoping to make green transportation a new symbol of Sri Lanka on the global stage.”

The BYD SEALION 6 is BYD’s first plug-in hybrid vehicle in Sri Lanka. It is the fourth model BYD has introduced in the local market, following the BYD DOLPHIN, BYD SEAL, and BYD ATTO 3. This car offers an economical and eco-friendly driving experience with both electric and gasoline power.

The new store in Colombo’s city center features brand displays, product experiences, sales, and delivery services. The service center is equipped with advanced tools and a certified team to ensure efficient and convenient after-sales service.

In the future, BYD plans to launch more innovative electric vehicles in Sri Lanka, promoting green travel. The company will also work closely with local dealers and partners to provide high-quality service and make green travel a popular choice for everyone.
