Recently, the Indonesian KD factory project, a collaboration between GWM and renowned global automobile distributor Inchcape, successfully rolled out its first vehicle – the HAVAL JOLION HEV. As the first locally assembled model of GWM in Indonesia, the HAVAL JOLION HEV follows the HAVAL H6 HEV as the second SUV model introduced by the company in the Indonesian market.
This event marks the beginning of localized production for GWM in Indonesia. The HAVAL JOLION HEV is a hybrid SUV known for its practicality, driving pleasure, and efficiency. Introduced to the Indonesian market in July 2024, it has sparked strong interest and attention from the local populace.
GWM's production line and logistics operations in Wanaherang, Indonesia, span 20,277 square meters, with the total plant area covering 411,392 square meters. Over 100 professionals manage production, quality control, engineering, and logistics. Supported by engineering technicians and quality systems from GWM’ headquarters, the facility was put into operation after strict acceptance testing in line with the standards of the headquarters.
The rollout ceremony represents a significant milestone in the development of GWM in Indonesia. The successful assembly of the JOLION in Indonesian KD factory marks a deepening of the company’s focus on the local market. Together with its Indonesian distributor, Inchcape, GWM will accelerate the launch of new products and continue leveraging its local advantages.
As a staunch advocate of globalization, GWM is consistently focused on long-term overseas market development. The manufacturing facility in Indonesia is part of GWM’s global strategy for “localized production capacity.” In the face of rapid overseas expansion, the company is advancing several KD factory projects across the globe. For instance, on June 26, GWM’s KD factory in Uzbekistan officially commenced operations. Following the successful launch of factories in Ecuador, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, and Ghana, additional projects in countries like Malaysia are set to begin production this year. These initiatives allow GWM to quickly transfer its advanced supply chain advantages into overseas markets, integrating into local industrial development while creating job opportunities and expanding GWM’s production footprint abroad, thereby better meeting the needs of overseas markets.
Indonesia is a key strategic market for GWM in ASEAN and globally. The company remains committed to its long-term strategy in the region, providing Indonesian consumers with safe, intelligent, eco-friendly, high-quality vehicles, along with superior services.
