On October 14, the 2024 Paris Motor Show, one of the world’s top five automotive exhibitions, officially opened. GAC Group returned to this prestigious event six years after its debut in 2018. The company showcased its high-quality, high-tech products that have been well-received globally. GAC revealed the second-generation AION V, a key global model, alongside other popular models such as the Trumpchi ES9, E9 PHEV, Hyper HT, and Hyper SSR. Additionally, GAC launched its European market plan, setting the stage for its future development in Europe.
As the global auto industry shifts towards greener transportation, Europe is leading the charge. It is the second-largest market for new energy vehicles after China, with plans to ban the sale of gasoline cars by 2035. GAC is seizing this opportunity, leveraging its strengths in new energy technology and innovation to accelerate its entry into the European market.
At the Paris Motor Show, GAC's "European Market Plan" outlined its approach to market expansion, green mobility, service networks, and cultural integration. The company also shared its long-term vision of establishing a local tech center in Europe. With a focus on cooperation and long-term growth, GAC aims to build a strong ecosystem in Europe, becoming a trusted partner for both the industry and consumers.
GAC has already made significant strides in Europe. In 2022, the company established a design center in Milan, Italy, and a European headquarters in the Netherlands. This year, GAC is speeding up its European expansion, planning to enter select European markets by the end of 2024. By 2028, GAC aims to cover the entire European market, meeting the diverse needs of European consumers. The company is also working on setting up a local service network, with plans to establish a European logistics hub by 2025 to enhance the supply chain. By 2028, GAC expects to have a comprehensive service system covering most European countries.
GAC Group's General Manager, Feng Xingya, said, “As the global auto industry evolves, we are committed to entering the European market with an open and humble attitude. By working with local partners, we aim to offer European consumers more choices for their mobility needs. We hope that GAC’s arrival in Europe will be like the Chinese rose that blossomed in France in the 19th century—taking root and flourishing in this fertile land, bringing the benefits of smart and green transportation to everyone.”
Feng delivered the entire press conference in fluent English, quoting Confucius' saying, "Among three people, one can always be my teacher," and a French proverb, "Little by little, the bird builds its nest." These references highlighted GAC’s determination to integrate into European society.
GAC’s second-generation AION V, a global strategic model, made its European debut at the Paris Motor Show, drawing significant attention with its unique design and advanced technology. Built by GAC’s global design and engineering team, the AION V meets Europe's high-quality and safety standards. It offers smart driving features, cutting-edge electric technology, and a combination of safety and style, providing European users with a modern driving experience. Before the show, GAC teamed up with local media to create a series of visuals, showing the AION V blending seamlessly into European city life. As the AION V drove through the streets of Paris, it became a striking sight, showcasing the appeal of Chinese electric vehicles to the world.
