On May 29, BAIC Motor held a car launch event at the Great Egyptian Museum in Cairo, Egypt. They introduced three new models: U5 PLUS, Magic Cube, and the new X7. Additionally, three off-road models—BJ40, BJ60, and BJ80—along with three new energy vehicles—Aito Alpha S, Alpha T, and EU5—were also showcased. This event also marked the opening of BAIC Motor's first flagship store in Giza.
The theme of the event was "The Future is Now, Heritage is Now." Key attendees included Zhao Liuqing, the economic and commercial counselor from the Chinese Embassy in Egypt, Yang Nanhua, assistant president of BAIC Group, Khaled Nossair, chairman of Alkan Group, and Tamer Shaheen, CEO of the Egyptian International Automotive Group, along with nearly 500 local dealers, media, and partners.
The new vehicles were specifically designed for the Egyptian market, highlighting BAIC Motor's comprehensive product lineup and ability to serve diverse markets. The stylish U5 PLUS, technologically advanced Magic Cube, and luxurious new X7, along with the high-performance off-road models, will offer new choices for Egyptian consumers.
BAIC Motor's latest generation of vehicles is gaining popularity in Africa. In 2023, the Magic Cube (X55) and BJ40 were chosen as the official service vehicles for the BRICS summit in South Africa, and the Magic Cube (X55) won the "Best Family SUV" award. The BJ30 is set to make its debut in Egypt in September.
BAIC Motor is achieving great success in international markets, with export sales increasing by over 200% in 2023. As they move into 2024, the company is actively expanding its international presence. From April to May, dealers, media, and partners from over 50 countries visited BAIC Motor to learn about its latest products and international business strategies.
At the recently concluded 2024 Beijing International Auto Show, more than 200 foreign dignitaries and media visited BAIC Motor’s booth, showcasing new models like the BJ30 and the all-new BJ40, demonstrating the company's capability and confidence in expanding globally.
Before the U5 PLUS, Magic Cube, and new X7 entered the Egyptian market, the Magic Cube (X55) and BJ40 had already launched in Southeast Asia, specifically in Indonesia and Malaysia.
As China's manufacturing capabilities continue to improve, Chinese cars are becoming more popular worldwide. BAIC Motor will remain committed to its international strategy, striving to offer diverse and high-quality options for global consumers.
