XPENG, a leading Chinese hi-tech automotive company, has announced a partnership with Motor Distributors Limited (MDL) as the official importer and distributor of its all-electric passenger cars in Ireland. This collaboration marks a significant milestone in XPENG's expansion in Europe and reinforces its commitment to providing AI-driven, sustainable mobility solutions worldwide.

Ireland's electric vehicle (EV) market is rapidly growing, driven by government incentives, expanding infrastructure, and increasing demand for sustainable transportation. XPENG's alliance with MDL aims to meet this rising demand. MDL, an established distributor of cars, light vans, and commercial vehicles, brings valuable market experience and a robust network to support XPENG’s growth in Europe, enabling the introduction of advanced electric vehicles to Irish consumers. Together, they plan to establish dealerships across Ireland, offering local drivers access to innovative, eco-friendly mobility options.

The launch of the highly anticipated XPENG G6 will kick off a series of model rollouts in Ireland. The G6, a mid-sized, smart coupe SUV, features cutting-edge technology, including 800-volt supercharging and an impressive driving range. Tailored to European preferences, the G6 promises a next-generation driving experience that aligns with the Irish market’s focus on eco-friendly, high-performance vehicles. Through this partnership, XPENG aims to make AI-driven, sustainable mobility widely accessible in Ireland.

"Our partnership with MDL is a crucial step in XPENG's global growth," said Dr. Brian Gu, Vice Chairman and President of XPENG. "We are thrilled to introduce Irish consumers to a new standard in electric mobility, blending innovative technology with exceptional design to create an unmatched experience. Our vision for AI-defined mobility is set to revolutionize the driving experience in Ireland, making it safer, smarter, and more sustainable."

Paddy Finnegan, Chief Executive of MDL, welcomed XPENG's choice of MDL as its partner in Ireland, describing the relationship as "friendly and constructive." "MDL is proud to represent XPENG's impressive portfolio, showcasing Chinese electric vehicle innovation and craftsmanship," he stated. "With superior build quality, advanced technology, and sleek styling that appeals to European drivers, XPENG’s current lineup and future models offer exciting, climate-friendly options for modern transportation."

XPENG continues to strengthen its presence in the European market, expanding across key regions. Since launching in Norway in late 2020, XPENG has introduced its vehicles in several countries, including Denmark, Sweden, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, France, Iceland, Spain, and Portugal, with further expansion plans. All XPENG models, including the G6 coupe SUV, the G9 flagship SUV, and the P7 sedan, have achieved Euro NCAP 5-star safety ratings, highlighting the company’s commitment to safety and innovation. By the end of 2025, XPENG aims to be present in over 60 global markets, with a goal of generating half of its total sales from international markets.
