On November 23, 2024, at 4:00 PM local time in Barcelona, the first EBRO S700 rolled off the production line at the joint venture factory established by Chery and Spain’s EV MOTORS. The launch ceremony was attended by prominent leaders from both China and Spain, including Zhao Leji, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, Spanish Minister of Industry and Tourism Jordi Areu, Chinese Ambassador to Spain Yao Jing, as well as Chery Chairman Yin Tongyue, Chery Executive Vice President Zhang Guibing, EV MOTORS President Rafael Ruiz, and EBRO President Pedro Calef.

The collaboration between Chery and EV MOTORS began in April 2024, when the two companies signed an agreement witnessed by Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez. The partnership aims to revive Spain’s iconic EBRO brand and restart production at the Zona Franca plant in Barcelona. This initiative not only breathes new life into the EBRO brand but also creates job opportunities and drives economic growth in the region.

Looking ahead, Chery plans to deepen its partnership with EV MOTORS, focusing on innovation and sustainable development to enhance local production and research in Spain. This collaboration is set to support the modernization and green transformation of Spain’s automotive industry.

In 2024, Chery achieved a historic milestone by exporting over 1 million vehicles in a single year for the first time. With its commitment to the philosophy of “In somewhere, For somewhere,” Chery continues to advance localization in manufacturing, R&D, and sales across international markets. The company is dedicated to contributing to global economic development, supporting local communities, and fulfilling its role as a responsible global corporate citizen.
